We also include an introduction to the history of the area. Features (from 1872 map) include Old Nichol slum area, Bishopsgate Station and railway approaches, St Leonard's church, St Philip's church, St Paul's church, St Matthew's church, St Matthias church, chapels, schools, etc. Churches and some other public buildings have interiors mapped.
