Mid Finchley 1894

Detailed map of Mid Finchley; London sheet 5. Historical introduction by Pamela Taylor. At present we have published just the one map for this area of London. The map covers an area of a mile by a mile and a half, stretching from Finchley station on the west side of the map, eastward beyond the Great North Road to Islington and St Pancras cemeteries. The other principal roads on the map are Ballards Lane, Station Road, Lichfield Road, Long Lane and Squires Lane. Other features on what was still a partly rural map include Claigmar Vineyard, Fallow Corner, and the northern tip of East Finchley. The map includes street directory extracts for most of the streets then on the map.

Reduced from the original Ordnance Survey 1:2,500 map to a scale of approximately 1:4,340 (or about 15" to the mile). Published by Alan Godfrey Maps, Leadgate, Consett
